Why to stay for relaxation….
We know there is ALWAYS so much on the go, on your mind….to be done. (Before reading on, take note that below is a freebie moment of zen for you….try it out!).
Plus: we MUST get out of class before the rush of everyone else wanting to get to their locker, yes? NO. Not at the expense of one of the most important moments of your day and workout or class!
The rest and recovery at the end…allows the work you’ve done to integrate into the muscles; it helps the nervous system calm; it begins the process of REPAIR. In fact the best part of any yoga class - and workout - is the relaxation to allow this important assimilation to happen for body AND mind.
Think about it: WHEN during any part of the day can you slow down, stop, in the case of yoga LIE DOWN and do absolutely nothing?? Never/ rarely am I right? Doesn’t bode well to lie on the floor in the middle of your office at 2pm.
We can rush through life wishing there was a moment’s grace. So give yourself this. Who cares if it means others being in the change room? Have you truly ever had to fight your way out of a gym?
Nope.
So for the sake of your body, muscles, heart and brain….I beg you for your sake (and calmness)!….stay with the Instructor or if doing a practice alone….GIVE yourself this beautiful gift of time, rest, calm, happy.
Your brain and body today and in the future will thank you for it.
